Privacy Policy
Le Coloriste collects no data. Here is, in detail, how we protect your information.

This policy is also available in French. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Studio Vionnik (“we”) is a Québec business that designs apps for Mac. Our address: [full mailing address].
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we protect it and what your rights are. It applies to:
- our app Le Coloriste;
- our website vionnik.com;
- any email exchanges you have with us.
It is written to comply with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and, where applicable, Canada’s federal privacy law (PIPEDA).
2. Person in charge of the protection of personal information
- Name: [First Last]
- Title: [Partner, Studio Vionnik]
- Email: confidentialite@vionnik.com
- Address: [full mailing address]
This person ensures this policy is followed and answers any question, access request or complaint.
3. In short
- Le Coloriste runs on your Mac. Your colors stay there. We have no server that receives them.
- We don’t create user accounts, and we never sell, rent or trade personal information.
- No ads, no ad trackers.
- Purchases go through Apple. We never see your name, card or billing address.
- If you email us, we use your address only to reply, unless you agree to receive our news.
4. Le Coloriste
What the app stores: your colors, swatches and preferences, saved on your Mac. If you turn on sync, they are also synced across your Macs through your own iCloud account, under Apple’s privacy policy. Studio Vionnik has no access to your iCloud.
Screen access: to pick a color from another app, macOS may ask you to allow Le Coloriste to read the screen. The app uses this only to read pixel colors, on your Mac. No image of your screen is saved or transmitted. You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
What Studio Vionnik receives: nothing.
5. App Store purchases and data provided by Apple
Le Coloriste is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, billing, taxes and refunds under its own privacy policy. We receive neither your name, nor your address, nor your payment information.
Apple provides us with:
- aggregated sales statistics (for example, the number of sales per country) that cannot identify you;
- crash reports and anonymized usage data, only if you chose to share them with developers in your Mac’s settings.
We use this data only to fix bugs and improve our apps.
6. Website and email
Website: vionnik.com uses no advertising cookies and no tracking tools. The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may keep technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security purposes, under its own policy.
When you email us: we receive your email address, your name if it appears and the content of your message. We use them to reply and provide support.
News and launches: we send you news only if you have given your express consent, as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every message includes an unsubscribe link.
7. Third parties and transfers outside Québec
We do not sell or share any personal information for commercial purposes. The only third parties involved are:
| Third party | Role | Server location |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Sales, payment, updates, crash reports, iCloud | United States and elsewhere |
| [Email provider] | Receiving your emails | [to be specified] |
| GitHub | Website hosting | United States |
Some of these servers are located outside Québec. Before any personal information is communicated outside Québec, we assess, as the law requires, that it will receive adequate protection, and we choose recognized providers committed to protecting it.
8. Retention, security and incidents
Retention: we keep support emails for [24 months] after the last exchange, then delete them. Your subscription to our news is kept until you unsubscribe.
Security: two-factor authentication on our accounts, encrypted devices, and access limited to the people who need it.
Confidentiality incidents: if an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will promptly notify you and Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information, and record it in our incident register.
9. Your rights
At any time, you can:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from our news;
- request that your information be deleted;
- obtain a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).
Write to the person in charge (section 2). We reply in writing within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
10. Children, changes and contact
Children: our apps and website are not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 14. If that happens, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes: if we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with its update date. For a significant change, we will also mention it in the release notes.
